In the first quarter of 2025, the navigation and maps app category in Oceania showed interesting trends across the top five apps. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into their performance on a unified platform.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at about 57.4K and seeing a mid-quarter decrease before stabilizing around the 32.5K mark. The app maintained a solid base of weekly active users, peaking at approximately 1.48M at the start of the quarter and ending with a slight increase to 1.44M.

Google Maps showed a gradual decrease in weekly downloads, starting at 37.4K and tapering off to around 28.3K by the end of March. Despite this, the app's weekly active users remained robust, fluctuating slightly but ending with an increase to about 14.5M.

Google Earth saw a varied pattern in weekly downloads, with a notable peak of 19.7K in early March. Weekly active users reached a high of 191.6K during the same period, before settling at 138.7K by the end of the quarter.

QLDTraffic demonstrated a dramatic spike in weekly downloads at the start of March with 25K, after a relatively low start. This app did not have available data for weekly active users.

Polarsteps Travel maintained a steady increase in weekly downloads, ending the quarter at 4.95K. Weekly active users also saw growth, peaking at 58.7K mid-March before stabilizing around 52.7K.
